
Zunheboto Government College celebrated International Women’s Day on 8th march 2022 under the theme “break the bias” organised by Women and Grievance Redressal Cell to raise awareness about the status and dignity of women among the students. The programme was chaired by Miss Milika of 6th semester. Miss Olive k Ayemi spoke on the theme “break the bias”. She Emphasis on the importants of being a woman and that all women deserve to be respected. To press on for our rights and freedom and break the bias. International women’s day is our day to voice out for our self our children and our future. She encourages the students to act locally and think globally. Dr. Phukato Sema Assistant Professor Department of Political Science give a preview of women stand at politics and various scheme initiated by the government to uplift women status and education. The programme was followed by an activity which allow all the participants to write a word/quotes that empower them on board. On 13th April 2022 the IQAC Zunheboto Govt. College organized a Talk on Film: Everyday Capital at Zunheboto Government College with Mr. Akishe L Jakha an alumnus of the college and presently a Research scholar in cinema studies at SAA, JNU, New Delhi. The objective of the talk was to introduce the students to a subject (which is still unconventional among the Nagas) film/cinema studies and expand their understanding of academia o To facilitate students in identifying universities offering film studies program o To brief on the prospects of being a film scholar. The session began with an introduction of the resource person and highlighting the objectives of the talk. The topic was grouped into two: The resource person started the talk with the first topic “Thinking about film studies”. He briefed the gathering of various film studies and of institutions (in India) where prospective students can enroll for film studies program (Post Graduate). The second talk was on the topic- The Light in the city. Here the resource person presented a film analysis to demonstrate (to students) how one can interact with the content. Movie clips were shown and accordingly the students participated actively during the interactive session after the show. The participants of the program were the BA final year students.

The Zunheboto Govt College Students’ Union (ZGCSU) organized the 42nd Fresher’s Day to welcome the new students in the college. The event was graced by Ms. Nyamok Konyak EAC Zunheboto as the special guest. While expounding on the theme of the day “Discover Oneself” she exhorted the students to take every opportunity to bring out the best of oneself during the college days. Dr. K.Nishena Nekha Principal in his short speech urged the students to value the time and resources, learn to keep up with the good values if the community and be assets to the society. The program was adorned by songs, Indian ethnic wear, musical drama and other entertaining items presented by various groups. The Freshers were also welcomed with a gift token by the senior students. The selection of Mr & Miss Fresher dominated the event with 16 participants (8 boys and 8 girls) of BA 1st Semester vying for the title amid the excitement and fun for all the students present. Mr. Vikai won the title of Mr. Fresher 2022 while Miss. Loni Was crowned Miss Fresher 2022.
