Eligibility

  • Must hold or be in final year of a qualifying degree (Engineering, Science, Commerce, Arts, Architecture, etc.)
  • No age limit or attempt limit is applicable.

Exam Pattern & Papers

  • The exam is a Computer-Based Test (CBT).
  • Each session is 3 hours long.
  • Candidates can appear for 1 or 2 papers, based on discipline.
  • There will be around 30 papers including new combinations.

How to Register (GOAPS Portal)

  1. Visit gate2026.iitg.ac.in (GOAPS portal).
  2. Register as a new user using email, mobile number, create password. Receive enrollment ID.
  3. Log in and fill out personal and academic details.
  4. Upload photograph, signature, ID and degree certificates as per specs.
  5. Choose your paper(s) and exam cities.
  6. Pay application fee online (via card/UPI/net banking).
  7. Preview and submit application. Take a printout of confirmation.
  8. Correction facility will open post-deadline—topics like paper, city, category can be edited.
